Our winters are changing and a week or two of snowy fun is no longer a given. So what seasonal products still deserve a place in your collection anno 2024? 'Every year there is more demand for fashionable snow boots, Marco says. 'Big fashion houses are designing snowboot-like shoes for their collections, the trend of the padded boot is back and in general you see a lot of chunky shoes with high soles and puffer material in the fashion scene. We cannot guarantee snow, but a snowboot that is fun and warm to wear is very flexible in sales. An ideal way actually, to deal with the unpredictability of the weather.'
Fashionable, warm, and ready for city or piste
'At Antar Shoe we carry two brands with snowboots in their collection: Olang is a classic, technical base that is successfully sold every year in winter sports specialty stores, and also in shoe fashion stores that want to be relevant even with cold and snow. Antarctica is a more fashionable line with models that are incredibly flexible: from along the line to around town in cold weather.'
'We are very happy to have both brands, they complement each other incredibly well and many customers purchase both brands. In Antarctica's FW24 collection this year there is an awful lot of innovation. Think new colors, materials, models... Or popular models with an upgrade of the sole. If you ask me, it's the best collection so far!'

Marco notices that retailers weigh up the pros and cons: 'Some customers say: snowboots, I won't burn my fingers on those. But others know: as long as I present a nice, trendy collection, I'll sell it. Whether it snows or not. It's going to be cold anyway! It's great to see that in addition to specialist winter sports stores, more and more shoe stores are buying snowboots from us and being successful. The proof is in the repeat orders.

Marco: "We have a fine fixed set of snowboots that always sell. You can't burn your fingers on them. You don't even have to go straight into the deep end in terms of numbers: you can also buy from our webshop stock.
